Schurger (Bellingham, WA) The silicon gasket which came with the new unit failed after less than a year, got a tear in it somehow, really didn't have that much use, so I was disappointed. The Presto gaskets last longer and I never had one tear like this. Savvy Shopper by .. P. Williams (NB, Canada) An excellent OEM replacement silicone gasket at a good price. The original gasket hardened and leaked, making it impossible to build pressure without repeated "jiggling" of the lid in order to make the initial seal. The replaced part was dated "96 7", so it was probably not made of silicone. Can I expect even longer service from this one? Fagor Silicon gasket for 9" pressure cooker by .. I have been using an old gasket which was slightly melted in one spot, and I believe that compromised the cooker. I wish I had ordered 2 of these, so as to have one in storage instantly for the next time I need one! Should have bought it months ago by .. Donald Crane (New York) This solved the problem I was having with cooker not building steam. I was putting up with all sorts of twisting and banging to make the old one work for almost a year. Why did I not buy it then---description did not tell that it would fit my size cooker. They changed the description to explain the 9" and 10" gaskets. And they riased the price. The only complaint is you do not ship this item to Puerto Rico. So, I had to buy it to my aunt in NY and then she sent it to me. It was expensive.
