Customer Reviews Presssure cooking is sadly a lost art... by .. Blueticks (Northern California) I have this cooker and I can cook a whole frozen turkey in 30 minutes, tasting just as good as smoking it all day in a smoker (same for frozen chickens). As I type this, I am making my owned corned beef and cabbage (without the nitrites! and preservatives)for st. patties day and is going to take me an hour to cook everything.... not four as the "traditional" way takes...
I also looked up aluminum cookware and now I am more convinced than ever, aluminum is completely safe to cook with! Whoever, cooked up that cock-a-many story about aluminum and Alzheimer's was an idiot (and not to brag, but I have lots of science degrees and know what I am reading and understand it)....
This cooker is top quality, but if you can't afford it, the ones with the rubbers stoppers are great too! Pressure cook away, and with aluminum...it's a better much better heat conductor than stainless steel, nickel, or copper (which is definitely toxic)....
Pressure cook, Pressure cook, Pressure cook!
Impressive quality and workmanship by .. Curmudgeon () I purchased this product for a gift so I have never used it. However is appears very well made and is very sturdy as a pressure cooker should. It is American made and clearly built by a company that cares about its products. Because it is not cheaply made it is not cheaply priced.
21-1/2 Quart All-American Pressure Cooker by .. Lawrence D. Lewis (Nordman, Idaho) This is an excellent product. We had 2 good working pressure cookers - different brands from each other that gave my wife (and me when asked to fix the problems) great difficulty. The gaskets leaked even when new and caused lots of loss of food and time. When we bought new ones (kept a new on on hand) we got ones (yes, plural) that were not right and could not be used.
This pressure cooker has no rubber gaskets and is great for my wife to use. Highly recommend it.
Love this item by .. Retrocrazee (Detroit, MI USA) We've had our pressure cooker for all of a week and have already canned and cooked in it. This product is absolutely the finest quality; sturdy and well constructed. We love that there are no rubber seals to deal with and the lid is very secure when in use. And you have to appreciate that it is made in our own U.S of A, with replacement parts easy to get and not at all pricey. We just can't say enough about the All-American company or their product. You can feel confident in this purchase.
Rock Solid - No gaskets - Great for those fearful of pressure cookers! by .. javajunki () If you are like me then chances are you grew up hearing horror stories about exploding pressure cookers. As a child I actually met a neighbor woman who was the victim of severe burns due to a faulty set-up and never forgot how painful it appeared. On the other hand, I'm from a long line of people that created the most delicious homemade preserves, jams, jellies, vegies, stews and other fantastic delights in their own kitchen.
With the cost of groceries growing exponentially and the taste declining nearly as fast, I've been interested in canning and preserving for several years but was always fearful of the pots and disliked having to track down elusive gaskets and seals. This pot came up for sale and I decided to give it a try. Excellent choice!
The is no need for gaskets or seals prone to go bad and cause burns; not to mention the inconvenience of finding them or having to replace a pot because they are no longer made. The lid bolts down tightly on the pot and cannot be released until cooled sufficiently. A large pot, this can hold a substantially amount...any larger and I probably wouldn't be able to lift this when filled. It's a heavy, solid and very well built piece of kitchen equipment. As others have mentioned, it feels "industrial" in quality and is likely to last far longer than other models.
This item cost more than others on the market and with good reason; first, it is built to last. Next, you will spend far less in the long run by not having to find replacement gaskets or be forced to replace this item for years [from the look of it..decades. I wouldn't be surprised if you will be leaving this item to the grandkids as part of their inheritence]. Finally, it feels safe...even for those a little leary of pressure cookers like myself. Excellent quality that will pay for itself many times over.
