The handles are a little long for younger eaters and are a little to straight, but my son is very adept at using them now. They have survived many trips in the top of my dishwasher and are no worse for the wear. I highly recommend these spoons and this brand in general. Fun by .. They are very safe for a little one learning to feed himself. The fork won't stab food, but at least it won't stab him or anyone sitting by him either! They are easy for him to hold.
