Underhill (Ohio) I am very upset with this purchase. The label clearly says they are WOODEN chopsticks but they are in fact cheap plastic pieces of junk. A very small amount of pressure can easily snap these chopsticks in half. I specifically bought these along with some stainless steel chopsticks in case I could not handle the slipperyness of the steel but these are poorly made, slippery plastic. When held together the small ends are beveled away from eachother with also makes grasping things even harder. This was also under the category of "japanese Chopsticks" and they are very much Chinese. A wonderful deal at the price they are. Much cleaner than wood or disposable bamboo chopsticks, they clean easily. Grip is decent and more than adequate. They are long, thin and round, so those that are used to shorter or square chopsticks may not be used to them. Mine have lasted me quite a while now. These Beautiful Chopsticks WORK! by .. Chris (Maine) I bought this set a short while ago, having to use long square-edged wooden ones (or short round ones from our favorite Chinese restaurant *coughGreenleavescough* ) I have had NO problems with using these. Others say they're "slippery" to use...slippery on what? The food or the hands? I found them to be neither. I use chopsticks very well for someone who doesn't need to. (I use them on everything except soup, and fried eggs for obvious reasons). I give these washable chopsticks five stars.
