Legos are no longer limited to the tub of assorted pieces from which you attempt to craft masterpieces that last just until your mother vacuums the rug. Nowadays Lego has pursued more thematic kits. They come with instructions so that any reasonably bright child can create exactly what is pictured on the front of the kit. That has some inherent satisfaction--everyone can be a Lego master. Besides, in the typical household, the kit will ultimately be blended into the big tub o' Lego and the fire pick-up truck will become but a fond memory with parts visible in much larger creations. Willis (Dyersburg, TN) This truck unit comes with several pieces of equipment that should keep a fire-fighting kid happy. It includes a hose, a removable saw and a trailer that can be detached. It reminds me more of a firefighting unit you might see in a rural area, rather than a city. If your child is small, he or she may have trouble attaching some of the small pieces to the trailer, or placing them in the hands of the fireman that comes with this. Overall, it's a great little set. But beware this unit will probably make your kid want more fire units. The new fire station out this year from Lego is a dandy, and this little unit will only add to the fun.
