     "Good deal" 2009-05-04
    By J. Sanchez
I paid about $60 for the jacket and that's about the right price. It's not perfection but it serves several functions very well. First, be warned, the sizes run a bit big. The elbow and shoulder pads are very strong pieces of plastic, not foam. They can be slightly difficult to remove from the mesh lining. The denim is heavy, tough and dark colored. I haven't washed it yet so I don't know if the color will fade. The button snaps and zippers seem durable. The removable lining is warm and has a few pockets. One of the pocket flaps is secured by velcro and the stitching is coming undone around the velcro. This happened after repeated use. Simply re-stitch it. The entire removable lining is secured around the edges by a zipper but within the sleeves it is secured with just a button, one of which has already come off. Again, this is just a matter of sowing it back on. The zippers on the front of the jacket open up to reveal vents and another zipper. Behind these second zippers are pockets. The vent pockets and standard side pockets interfere with each other; there's just too much material within the jacket and it gets bunched up in places.

Overall, I'd recommend this jacket for a biker on a budget. It provides superb insulation and adequate protection. And it looks cool.
