Our house is
situated in the midst of olive groves on the Luccan hillsides (300m.
a.s.l.) at twelve kilometres from the town of Lucca.
An ideal place to relax surrounded by nature and immersed in the quiet of the countryside.
The
building has its origins in the middle of the eighteenth century and
was recently re-structured. It would appear that it was originally a
home to monks and testifying to this is the presence of a tiny chapel a
few metres from the house itself but forming part of the same property.
The small church is deconsecrated now but still hosts a village event
dedicated to the Virgin Mary each end of May.
In front of the house
there is an shaded open space equipped with table and chairs,
deckchairs and a swinging seat, where guests can relax or dine al
fresco.
A perfectly-functioning antique wood burning oven is also
sited to the front of the house where guests can prepare barbecued
meats, pizzas and cakes.
