Customer Reviews A laptop that comes up a little short by .. Kevin Meade (CT USA) My problems with this laptop:
1) it uses the intel graphics adapter. Yes, this laptop like all entry level laptops, was not really meant for gaming but lets face it, with today's technology, all entry level laptops can in fact play any game except for those out in the last year, when given enough of the associated resources. Why does it not have the nvidia mobile video like its sister machines.
2) advertising is suspect (putting it nicely); notice how the description says "ready for tomorrow's 64-bit applications" yet in typical stupidity, it is sold with the 32-bit version of Vista. How are you supposed to run 64-bit apps like the add says, if you only have a 32-bit O/S? You can't.
3) only comes with 2gb of memory. Hey, the max is four. How much more can it really cost to add the extra 2GB? Not much, memory is cheap today. Having 4GB vs 2GB makes all the difference in running VISTA. Vista is a nice snappy O/S, as long as you have enough memory.
4) no hdmi out port. I am OK with this I guess; not an issue if you are never hooking it to another monitor or tv. It is after all an entry leve laptop.
So in the end, another could have been. Stick with the 212-us sister machine, it is the same machine (2.0GHz cpu) but has the 64-bit O/S and 4GB of memory and 8200m video.

fantastic notebook for under 600 full featured too by .. D. S. (Texas) Compaq Presario CQ60-210US
Pros: While touted as a sub notebook this offering full of features. The screen is bright crisp. Has a media slot. This offering also plays wow and lord of the rings online well. It manages some sim games as well as roller coaster tycoon well. While i would not expect it to manage graphic intensive newer games , it does manage some what dated games very well
watched a movie recently with the dvd player. It was very easy . Just put the dvd in, and media player reconized it instantly .
Cons: Short battery life ( under 2 hours). 3 usb slots, no hdmi ( tv out put) no web cam
The outside of lap top is shiney black and a finger print magnet. Some might prefer to keep clear plastic sheet on it to deal with that
Summary: Very surprised at all the features and the fact with the 256 meg video that it handles some games very well. I had a net book . This was a better choice for me
Found it at stapples for 399.00 with mail in [...] from hp
warning it does not come with product recovery disks. However for about 16.00 you can order it on line or use phone support and get them to mail a product recover disk to you
HP Pulling Away From The Pack by .. Jay R. Adler (Massapequa,NY) May 2, 2009
I am extremely pleased with this laptop purchase and the excellent and thorough customer service issued by HP from delivery onward. I am not, in this concise review going to offer my perceptions of the outstanding technical ability of this unit due to space considerations. Suffice to say HP has been the leader in home and business computing for many years now and known widely and internationally as a top flight engineering and scientific plus corporation. To acquire a sophisticated unit from HP, having purchased this laptop myself through this site at a miraculous and more than competitive price point can only be considered by the customer to be a win/win situation. As someone owning a home business, reliability and functionality is of the utmost importance. My wife as well, organizing family sports events also profits from the accuracy that HP offers with this Compaq Presario laptop.

Compaq Presario CQ60-210US by .. TSBG () This system is a wonderful system. I purchased it for a friend and he has told me that he has had a wonderful experience with it. It has good performance and a great deal of system power. The specs do him well since he is a DJ and is now free of the system lock-ups in the middle of a session which was a common thing to experience with his previous system. Very lovely. Compliments to HP/Compaq.
Excellent laptop for the price by .. L. Hall (Virginia) Sharp, clear wide screen. Great picture, but it does widen your desktop photos so that people look short/wide. Fast, especially after you remove the HP "bloatware". Has a number pad, which is nice, but I needed some time to get used to the keypad arrangement being a little to the left because of it. No real cons, unless you want a webcam (doesn't have one), but those freak me out anyway!
I paid $399 at Staples, with rebates from HP to get a printer, too. Best deal I've gotten in a long time.
