Early in my instruction, I blew out several reeds in my inexpensive ($3.00) harmonica and at that point decided to invest in a quality instrument. Following J.P. Allen's recommendation, I purchased the Hohner Special 20, and the harmonica has just been a great investment. It plays perfect notes and withstands my abuse (so far no blown reeds). Two other reviewers made erroneous complaints. One was regarding the wooden comb swelling. This harmonica has a plastic comb! Another stated that Amazon would not accept a return due to a blown reed. The Board of Health does not allow for a harmonica to be returned once it has been played. Buy with confidence. This is a great harp that is easy to play in any style. Buyer Beware: by .. Forest Knolls () I purchased this harmonica after much research, and, initially, was very pleased with it. However about two months into playing it, the "D" note went flat. I was quite frustrated, and even more so to find out that Amazon offers no recourse. One can neither return this item nor replace it after 30 days, esp. if it's been used. From what I understand Amazon offers no warranty re: defective products.
