The original bench came damaged, however, the people at J&R were amazing, specially Barbara (great accent) they replaced the damaged bench asap. Biggs (NH) I am 5'5" and this bench is too high even at its lowest setting: I can't sit with my knees at a 90 degree angle. I would have drilled another hole to get the right height, but to use the bench I'd also have to reupholster it, and that's just not worth it. The seat is hard as a rock - I felt uncomfortable after just one minute, and I had some padding of my own to contribute. Changing heights involves two washers, a long bolt, and a large knob--it's a pain, but only takes about half a minute. The bench seems to be sturdy, but I'm not going to find out if it's durable because I'm sending it right back. It would be nice to see something sized for an average woman instead of a tall man; unfortunately, this seems to be the only product on the market in the under-100 price range. It has three adjustments for the bench height. The product description states the bench to be wider than it is. It is about 17.5" wide as supposed to 23.5" per product description. Better than Best Buy.... by .. TinkerMan (Georgia) We needed a decent bench for a portable keyboard - but the one we picked one up at Best Buy seemed cheap and flimsy. I found the Yamaha version at Amazon, ordered it and took the other back to Best Buy. Not only was it a good bit less in cost (free shipping too!) - but is of better quality and construction. The bench feels quite stable and the padding is comfortable without being too cushy on your tushy. Height adjustment is limited but should suit most average users.
