Customer Reviews Great monitor by .. Game Guy (Illinois) Got the monitor from Best Buy but I had to return it since the screen itself had been damaged during shipping. The replacement was working just fine. It took all of about ten minutes to set up. I didn't bother with the instructions at all. The plastic stand was a bit odd to figure out. I had to reduce both brightness and contrast quite a bit before I could actually work with the screen. Once done with that business, the screen looked really good. The picture is clean and sharp in the suggested 14400x900 resolution. The others really are not adequate settings (but then who cares?) Colors are awesome. I got mine for $139, and wonder why I waited so long to get rid of my old CRT monitor.
Must use DVI connection by .. J. Winston (Hermon, ME USA) Initially I had the monitor connected via its VGA port, and the image was blurry no matter what resolution I set it to.
My graphics card didn't have DVI, so I bought an nVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 (for ~$30), and swapped it in. With the digital signal at the W1952TQ's native resolution of 1440x900, the image is gorgeous. The nVIDIA drivers & nView handle all the color adjustments (though I didn't find any were necessary), so LG's forteManager isn't necessary.
This is a very nice monitor for the price (~$160 at BestBuy).
Nice Monitor weird stand by .. MacMan (Philadelphia) I really can't blame the monitor for anything ........the picture quality is fine. The only complaint I have is with the stand. When I received the box and opened it one of the pieces was loose from its molded compartment. As with the multiple other LCD monitors I have purchased, there are two pieces, the LCD and the stand which attaches to the back of the monitor. I looked at this thing for 10minutes and could not figure out how to attach the stand. There were no written instructions, just a CD. I finally had to look at the PDF on the CD to figure out what was going on. It turns out there was a third piece hiding in the box that had to be attached to the back of the monitor before the stand would attach. Stupid me but not exactly sure why an additional plastic piece would be needed to connect the stand.
Too bright for my eyes by .. B. Faktorovich () I had to return this item. Screen was so bright that I could not even look at the screen for more than 10 seconds. And I lowered brightness to the lowest level allowed.
