My ongoing struggle with Alopecia
I started losing my hair ten years ago. Diagnosed with alopecia, I experienced total hair loss, but you wouldn't know it to see me, every hair in place, always put together with permanent make up and wearing my own hair systems!
Beyond this, I have first-hand experience of cancer, too. In 2007, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, went through chemo and lost a breast.
Helping cancer patients and those with alopecia getting beyond their emotional issues of hair loss is a major deal for me: That is why I pursue that goal with lots of passion.
As a salon owner who creates custom hair systems that look and feel like real hair, I can help anyone look their best, in turn boosting their self esteem and, in theory, their immune system. A stronger immune system helps the body battle insidious diseases like cancer. A survivor myself, I attribute my recovery in part to my commitment to keeping a positive attitude.
If you are going through cancer, I understand how you may be feeling now. I faced the same concerns. Perhaps one of your first worries is whether you will lose your hair. According to the type of treatment, you may. But you are not alone; I am here to help and support you, not just by creating a hair system for you, but through a new support group I'm starting for people experiencing hair loss and fears about cancer. I invite you to call me for details.
