Kindle 2: Amazon's New Wireless Reading Device
I presumed I'd commence with listing my reasons for getting the Kindle, since I suspect that will occasionally help others who are sitting on the fence to choose if it is for them or not.
* Saving Cash . Whilst the price of the Kindle up front is steep, in the future it will pay for itself and save me money since I read approximately 4-8 books a month. With the free classics available it is also going to persuade me to grow my reading material, for no further cost.
* Environment. The bulk of books I buy and read I should only read once. I feel guilty about the trees wanted to make the paper and all of the other energy used to supply and ship / allot the books needed to fulfill my reading appetite.
* Storage. I am out of shelf space and all of the boxes of books do tiny to add to the atmosphere of my one bedroom loft. On the rare occasions I would like to read something again attempting to find the book in all of the boxes is an exercise in disappointment.
I adore books and using an electronic gadget isn't the same experience. The new technology has virtually eliminated that concern.
* Convenience. The Whispernet is superb for when you want the subsequent book in a chain straight away or desire to load up on some before leaving on a trip. Having the ability to have many books stored in the Kindle to take along rather than having to pack an additional bag just for my books for a week's holiday is a big benefit.
