Turkey hunting is a one-on-one situation, unless you're filming your hunt for a famous TV show .. and when that big old Bull-of-the-Woods Boss gobbler is cock of the roost, you are faced with challenges that are unlike any that you have ever experienced. Thos turkeys are flat unpredictable in just about everything they do! What excitement you must feel when that old gobbler is 20 - 30 yards away and gobbling his head off , while you are waiting for him to clear in your direction. Turkey hunting is a sport of great challenge, patience, practice and a lot of desire to outwit those old gobblers... wake up before daybreak, eat breakfast, and suck down some coffee and discuss the morning plan .. with your buddies, your guide or your son or daughter ... get your camo gloves, face net, gun, camo cushion, and boots and into the woods you go !!
Go into the woods to a good listning spot and listen for that old gobbler to wake up the woods with a resounding gobble-gobble-gobble!!! Now, you know where he is. It's time to quietly slip within about 100 to 150 yards and settle in for an exciting hunt!!!.. and hopefully you're on a piece of land with gobblers galore and plenty of acres to hunt .. public or private.
The Turkey hunting outlook is good for 2009 from west Texas to Kansas and all in between ... so BigDaddy says --- have at it !!
