World of Warcraft Player versus Player (PvP) combat has to be one of
the most intense and exciting parts of the WoW experience. Working
together with your teammates is fun, and once you start having success,
well PvP is more than a little addictive. But when you are getting used
to PvP combat combat] it can be bewildering. And even if you've been
competing for some time, it's not hard to forget some of the
fundamentals. I know this from personal experience. Especially once you
get good at taking out opposing players, you can easily get caught up
in the moment and forget the fundamentals that got you where you are
now in the first place. So let's talk about three basic tactics
you need to apply whether you're new to this whole player versus player
thing, or are already kicking butt at a high level in WotLK. First,
you have to be able to heal yourself, at least a little. You may be
brutally efficient at taking out the enemy quickly, and you may have
healers along to take care of messy details like keeping you breathing,
but when the crisis hits, and you have seconds to live, you need to be
able to treat the worst of your wounds some potions and bandages for
emergency situations. Do you really want your character to die because
your healer was helping someone else, or ran low on mana, or just got
distracted when you needed him most? Second, learn about macros.
Learn how to make them, then make them for all your key actions, and
use them. When your foes are all around you, and you're deep in the
middle of the mayhem, speed will mean the difference between life and
death. With your special abilities and spells triggered by macros,
you'll have a massive advantage over people who don't use them. Third,
remember that sometimes a strong defense is just as important as a
strong offense. This is where getting caught up in the moment really
causes problems. What use is it if you capture a base or take a flag,
only to lose it again because nobody helped to protect it? The blood
lust driving you to hunt down and slaughter one more foe can be almost
irresistible, but there are times when the best thing you can do for
your self and your side is to defend your gains instead of going on the
attack. Master these three things, and keep them in mind when
you're in combat, and you'll be a better, more popular PvPer. Still,
basic information like this, and even your own skill will only carry
you so far. If you really want to dominate PvP combat, you're gonna
need help. To go as far as possible in PvP combat, you need the
experience and insights gained by the best PvP gamers after hundreds of
hours of combat. You could try to find an in-game mentor who is willing
to teach you (not very likely), or you can be smart and invest in a
quality PvP Guide. The best PvP guides provide not only basic
information like that in this article, but specific, detailed
information for each type of character. That information comes from the
cream of the crop among PvP gamers out there, people who have already
done it all with their own characters. The best PvP guides gather and
organize the information for you, along with providing updates whenever
a new patch like WotLK comes out. If you want to be the best at WoW Player versus Player combat, you need to invest in the best guide. Go to http://PvP-Bible.info to learn more about that guide.
