These are two of the most powerful forces in the human mind and when you merge the two you will have a formula that will work ‘magic’.
Now let us look at what you CAN say that works almost all of the time.
In a light and friendly manner:
“Hi Jack, it's Cindy and I wanted to tell you how much I appreciate what you did for me. Give me a call so I can thank you in person.”
See how that message uses both curiosity and self-interest?
Jack will be thinking, “What did I do?” “What does she appreciate?” He will feel good and will not be able to resist this positive message.
However, wait; before you call you need to have a plan. You need to figure out what he or she did that you appreciate. It can be any little thing but it needs to be credible.
