This authentic Montblanc Meisterstuck Solitaire fountain pen is very rare and is in mint condition. It is made of pure silver and has the very rare Solitaire Barley Guilloche finish alternating with plain stripes. Solitaire Barley Guilloche is an engraving technique in which a very precise intricate pattern is etched with very fine detail. The pattern is a repetitive architectural pattern widely used in classical Greece and Rome, consisting of two ribbons that wind around a series of regular central points. The fine solitaire Barley Guilloche finish has been discontinued because it was way to labor intensive to produce.
This Montblanc Solitaire is made of pure silver and has the 925 marking. The 925 mark means that its a combination of mostly pure silver and a small percentage of infused alloy metal. Other silver is extremely malleable and therefore can easily damage. Other silver also softens over time, even at room temperature. The 925 makes this pen even more rare and more valuable because it is a high quality sterling silver and much stronger that any other silver.
The Montblanc nib is 14 karat gold with platinum inlay was hand-crafted in the best European tradition which allows your writing to flow effortlessly, resulting in highly attractive handwriting. Works with both ink cartages and piston converter (both included).
The pen comes in the original Montblanc Solitaire pen box with original protective foam, protective box slip cover, owners manual and warranty information booklet. Box also includes (12) Montblanc note cards and envelopes. Also included is the Montblanc polishing cloth. This pen has been discontinued and will go up in value.
