My name is Debbie Ray and I have over 30 years of experience with this wonderful dog breed. My earliest memories are filled with all sorts of “critters” I have owned and loved over the years but it has always been dogs that I have been most drawn to - and German Shepherds in particular.

I got my first German Shepherd, a white one name Casian, when I was around 10 or so. Since that time I have almost always been owned by one, or more, German Shepherds - be they black and tan, black and red or solid black. My experiences over the years with these dogs have given me an insight into the breed. Let me be the first one to admit here that I'm not a "dog expert" but simply a German Shepherd lover and ex-teacher who likes to share my knowledge and vast experiences with this loveable breed with others who are interested in learning more about them.

I have lived with them, bred them and been owned by them in literally every phase of their lives, from puppy to senior citizen, for over 30 years now. I have been with them from initial breeding, during whelping, throughout weaning, completely through puppyhood, during many major and minor illnesses with many of them, and even through to those final moments of their life - and I'll be the first to admit here that I don't have "secrets" to share with you so much as a wealth of facts based on years of experience in dealing with this dog breed.
