Our lesson program is designed for dedicated students who want to learn how to ride hunt seat equitation and hunter jumper. From beginner to advanced, all riders are welcome. Our focus is that our riders not only learn how to ride they understand the horse itself. We also expect our students to learn and practice horsemanship which builds self confidence and responsibility as well as knowledge. We encourage our students whom are interested in horse shows to participate in two lessons a week. This however is not required. We also offer special rates for those who have their own horse and are interested in boarding and taking lessons. Lessons take place rain or shine with Saturday make up lessons available and we are flexible with scheduling around other extracurricular activities.
When boarding your horse, he or she will be well cared for by the competent staff at Circle A Plantation. Your horse will be fed twice daily. Horses boarded at Circle A Plantation are fed the highest quality hay. The remainder of the horse’s diet is adjusted depending on the horse’s training schedule and individual physical response to and liking of the diet. SmartPak packaged supplements will be fed if supplied by the customer. A majority of clients have ridden in the hunter/ jumper style. If not interested in riding in the tradition you are still welcome. If you are interested in riding on the show circuit, you are still welcome to board with Circle A Plantation. All boarders, however, if interested in training, must use the Circle A Plantation training services.
The training programs at Circle A Plantation are customized for each horse and for each rider. Circle A Plantation’s exclusive trainer, Jennifer Sansbury, has developed proven techniques through years of experience. A close consultation with you and assessment of your particular horse will reveal the training regimen that’s best for you, whether you would like to ride hunters or jumpers, try your hand at both, or just ride on the flat. Your are more than welcome to board multiple horses with Circle A Plantation, as the varying riding styles will certainly require horses with different strengths. Opting for full training means that Jennifer continues working with your horse regularly to ensure that he or she in kept fresh and precise while you may come in to ride and practice only a few days a week. Even if going away on a trip, you will know coming back that the horse will be sharp and practiced, if he is in full training. The schedule is entirely up to you, though you will be advised on a regimen that would best fit your goals.
