Stock Market Tips - Beware of Scams
Stock Market tips can be bad for your financial health. More often than not tips are used as tools by con artists to defraud the unsuspecting public of millions of dollars. This usually happens in what are popularly known as 'pump and dump' operations. Here is what happens:
Con artists accumulate a significant stake of a penny share at a low price. They then proceed to offload the stock at higher prices. To do this they need to find people willing to buy the penny share at these higher prices.
Under the guise of offering free Stock recommendations, these con men will promote (pump) the penny share heavily on bulletin boards and other forums. They do this to whip up generate as much interest as possible, and then they quickly sell (dump) all their shares to their victims who scramble to get in on the act.
The good news is that you don't need tips to become a successful investor. The green line in the graph below is the equity curve of one of my very simple Stock Market systems, while the red line is the equity curve of an equal amount invested in the SP500.
