The New Newspaper is Online Articles

Where do you get your news? There are so many options available if you want to keep up on current events. The traditional ways would include newspapers, magazines, radio and television. Of course getting your news from any of these traditional media requires that you pay a price. There are no free lunches! And I’m not talking about the price of the newspaper or your cable bill. I’m talking about the advertisements. That’s where publications and other media like radio and television stations make their real money.

So now with so many people turning to the internet to get their news, why would we expect it to be any different? Like so many things on the internet, the formats can vary greatly. For example a news group is really more like a discussion board. Compare that to CNN’s web site which gives its news in the form of online articles, and you will see huge differences. There will be one commonality though. The online businesses do their internet marketing on these (and so many other) web sites. Whether it is just a little blurb to the side, or even if it is one of those annoying pop up ads, you are the target of the advertiser when you are online. Like I said before, nothing is free!
