When I was younger, getting a secondary education was optional. However, with all of the changes in the world and the competitiveness of the workplace it seems obvious that you can really be left behind if you don’t possess a degree.
After my job of fifteen years was phased out I decided I needed to make some better choices about my future. When I started looking for another job to match the rate of pay I was receiving I found that nearly everything I was interested in required a degree. However, the nearest university from me was over forty miles away. I had no interest in making a daily commute of eighty miles with today’s gas prices. Therefore I was delighted to find that there are so many online degree programs offered through reputable universities. In addition, I found so many wonderful web-sites that offered career information and helped me make the right choice on an academic concentration.
I was a little intimidated at first, but now I am really excited for school to begin and I feel really hopeful about my future. I know this degree with help me get into a better position that won’t be at risk of being phased out after years of dedication.
