A LITTLE ABOUT US
We are co-owners of an in-home therapy company that specializes in Autism and Asperger’s. Kelli is a speech language pathologist and Tara is an occupational therapist. We work day-in and day-out with children with Autism and Asperger’s. We also facilitate and participate in various training programs and seminars related to Autism and Asperger’s throughout the country. This is our life and our passion.
Because of our experience, we know that everyday life is hard when you have a child or children with Autism or Asperger Syndrome. That’s actually putting it too lightly. It is beyond hard. There may not be a word in the English dictionary that can adequately paint a picture of the difficulty parents and caregivers face day-in and day-out managing households, running errands and earning a living while also caring for a child with Autism or Asperger Syndrome.
Parents of typical children have no idea what you face. The day you found out that your child had Autism, your life changed forever. It’s now a constant uphill struggle in which many people face heartache, financial stress, marital problems, concerns about their children’s future, drastic changes to their social lives and a general feeling of no balance in their lives.
Everyday, we help families work through these problems to regain a sense of balance and learn how to manage their child’s programs. We do this by working hands-on with the children and their families in their own environment.
One disappointment we face in our regular jobs is that we only get to work with a small number of families affected by Autism and Asperger Syndrome.
In an attempt to help even more people achieve positive results, we decided to create My Autism Network. The goal of this one-of-a-kind membership is to give parents a place to ask questions, get help and interact with Autism experts and other families in similar situations. Click here to join now!
