Learn & Master Drums Review:
I recently received and advanced copy of the Learn & Master Drums Course and here are my thoughts.
I was
pretty impressed with this product before I even played
the first DVD. This product is very well put together and in the same professional quality we have come to expect from Legacy Learning Systems. This is the same company that brought you Learn and Master Piano and the very popular Learn and Master Guitar Course.
Legacy Learning Systems went all out when they developed this course. I have been playing drums for 25 years and I have never seen a product quite like Learn & Master Drums.
It is the most complete video
instruction course for drums I have seen available
anywhere at the time of this review.
The course consists of thirteen DVDs, five
Jam-Along CDs, a 100+ page lesson book, and a lot of web-based
supplemental material. This course also covers a very wide range of playing styles. You can learn rock, funk, blues, jazz and latin drumming styles.
I loved the DVD'S, it's very cool to be able to learn at your own pace and the assignments were really easy to follow. Dann Sherrill is the instructor of the course and I really like his style of teaching. Here is a listing of the topics covered by the course:

Playing along with the Jam-Along CDs is a blast and it's one of many things I really like about this course. Additionally, the 70 tracks included in the Play-Along CDs are mixed both with and without the drum part. These tracks allow you to play along with Dann when you first learn the skill, and then solo with the band whenever you're ready.
Learn
& Master Drums should be the only instructional package
you'll need for learning to play the drums. If you are really serious about learning to play the drums the right way there just isn't a better learn to play drums course available.
Negatives: The only down side I found about Learn
& Master Drums is that it is pretty expensive when compared to other drums training products. It's also not an instant download. It's a physical product that is shipped so the lure of instant access that a lot of other products offer doesn't apply to this course as it is shipped. Having said that it took less then a week for us to receive our copy.
