How To build A Wordpress Blog

I know what it's like...

You want to start a blog but you don't know where to begin. It all looks so confusing. All the advice you get is contradictory, and everywhere you go the language looks like it's written by the nerd in the corner of the tech class!

That's what I found when I wanted to start my first blog. Every website that I visited was riddled with jargon and all the explanations seemed to assume that you know what they're talking about in the first place...

It was very (very!) frustrating. I wanted to build a nice, professional blog for my business but I couldn't find any reliable advice on just how to get started.

What I actually discovered was that most of the documentation is written by programmers for programmers. You have to be an insider to know just what they're talking about.

But hey, I'm a programmer myself, and I'm supposed to know about this stuff! I wasted a great deal of time going round and round in circles. I couldn't break through all the acronyms and geek-speak and confusing terminology.

So, I had to delve in and find out for myself just what it needed to get started on a blog.

I chose to start with WordPress because I'd been told that it is the most powerful and flexible blogging platform. And once I'd got through the veneer of jargon and tech-speak I found that WordPress is indeed a blogging goldmine. There is just so much potential in WordPress that I would be happy to recommend it to anyone who wanted to build a stylish, workable blog.

And let me tell you straight away that starting a blog is actually not that difficult IF you learn from someone who knows what they're doing.
