This is a Genuine Honda marine quality voltmeter pre-mounted on an OEM Honda fairing pocket cover and wired to fit your '1800, making installation easy. No cutting, no drilling, no splicing of wires is required. Everything you need is included - all you have to do is bolt it up, plug it in, and you're ready to ride. And because of its shallow depth, your fairing pocket remains usable. This unit fits GL1800 Goldwings from 2002 through 2005 with Hondaline heated grips (the dealer accessory item) or the factory installed navigation system. It can also be used on other models if you prefer a higher-mounted voltmeter than our standard kits. This kit includes a genuine Honda voltmeter, pre-mounted in an OEM, model-year correct Honda fairing pocket door and a custom manufactured wiring harness that simply plugs into your bike's existing harness. The back of the meter is covered by a custom cover to protect both the meter and the wiring harness. Installation consists of removing the right fairing pocket assembly and replacing the old door with the new one. It generally takes only 30 - 40 minutes to install and requires only a screwdriver and pliers. Why do you need a voltmeter on your Wing? A voltmeter can alert you to problems with your charging system or battery. Without a voltmeter you're only guessing as to what your battery and charging system components are doing. Don't be left stranded - add a voltmeter to your Wing and head off problems before they happen.

Just plug it in and start programming, you're good to go. DGV Gear Indicators/Voltmeter Information Acumen, the UK's leading motorcycle electronics manufacturer, has introduced a new version of their best-selling DG8 digital gear indicator that includes a voltmeter. This will help owners to spot some of the more common problems with the battery and charging system, whether at home or out on the road. Typical issues include battery malfunction, failing alternator and faulty regulator/rectifier, any of which could leave you stranded (with a ?flat' or ?fried' battery) if not attended to. Hence the DGV is particularly useful for touring or commuting. Once the ignition is turned on the DGV displays not only which gear has been selected but also the battery charge, so owners can clearly tell whether the machine is in neutral and the battery is charged before pressing the starter button. The DGV will continue to keep them informed after they get moving too. Even after the ignition is switched off, the voltmeter display will continue to show the battery voltage for one minute, before turning off automatically. Like the original DG8, the DGV can learn up to 8 gears and comes equipped with an automatic auto-dim facility for night time use. The DGV is supplied as a head unit with a plug-in extension lead (over 1.5metres total length) for those 'universal fits' and comprehensive fitting instructions. However, Acumen can also supply Plug-and-Go model-specific looms for most popular motorcycles, which the DGV will plug into.
