Can I make Money with Affiliate Programs?
This is an article that will explain the basics of Affiliate Programs. It is a great article if you are unfamiliar with how to make money using these types of associate programs. It also explains how easy it is to set up an affiliate program so that almost anyone with limited experience can do it. Also, this article will tell you how affiliate marketing compares to selling regular products on the Internet.
One of the big questions that is always asked his should I join affiliate programs in order to make money on the Internet? Many people may view this method of making money on the Internet as a get rich quick scheme, but it is not. It is a legitimate and fun way to make money on the Internet and if you work at it, just like anything else you can make a load of money.
I must admit, affiliate programs are not for everybody because some people like to sell physical products over the Internet and that is a very viable way of doing business. However, if you want to make money in a very easy manner on the Internet then affiliate programs (sometimes known as associate programs) of the way to go. Basically, I'm going to tell you exactly what affiliate programs are first so that you know what you will be dealing with. To put it into a nutshell, an affiliate program is simply where you sell other people's merchandise from your web site for a commission. Very simply, you have web site or a blog and you sell and promote other people's products from your web site or blog and you receive a commission for it. It is very easy to sell somebody else's product for them if they have method of tracking sales that people make of their products. For example, I am selling an electronic downloadable book on fishing. You would go to a specific web site, or my web site and sign up on a very basic form stating that you wanted to sell my product. You fill out your name, address and any other pertinent information that is asked of you on the form. Once that is complete, you would then push a button on the page and the information will be sent to me. I would then give you a tracking code with your personal assigned number on it that you could copy and paste on your web page or blog very easily. Once that tracking code is on your page people will be able to click on that link and order my book. I would then pay you a commission because I would know that you were the person that sold based on the tracking code that I assigned you. This is all done automatically and it is extremely easy to do.
One of the reasons I like to do affiliate programs is because they are those stinking easy to do. Once people click on the link and by the product I automatically get a commission sent to me. Just to show you how much easier it is to sell affiliate program items than a regular product, I will give you an example. I used to have an online business selling products, and once the products were ordered I had to put them into a box take them down to the post office and send them out. It was a really big hassle if you ask me. The order for my product would come in either through people, credit card or check in the mail. The product I was selling ran anywhere from $20-$40 and it cost me about seven dollars to make the product plus another six dollars to send it. My profit margins were very small. In order to have a decent income I would have to sell a lot of my products. Oh, let's not forget the gas prices going to and from the post office.
With affiliate programs a person goes to web site clicks on the order the order is sent directly to the person who is doing the selling not you! You do not have to worry about keeping track of credit card orders or Pay Pal orders or receiving checks sent to you in the mail and then having to wait for them to clear the bank before you send out the product. The person selling the affiliate program items does all of that for you! All you have to do, is wait for your check from your affiliate program that you sign up for two come to you in the mail. There is no hassle sending out products or keeping track of anything all you have to do is go down the mail box and take your affiliate check out when it comes in the mail and that is all there is do it!
There is, however, work to be done. You see, the process of doing affiliate programs is very easy but there is work involved in this process. You have to market and sell your product just like anything else and there are a variety of ways of doing this and each method of doing so will take up an entire article.
