Labeled “A collection of copies of Confederate Currency issued by the Confederate States of America.” The currency contained in the Album is Original Production, no not from the Confederate but from Cheerios Company and copyrighted 1954; “REPRINTED IN U.S.A 1954” is marked on the backside. This currency is of Museum Quality. My Mom did not throw anything away, and I recently found this in the bottom of a trunk, that had not been looked into for years. It was right along side my “Davey Crockett” suit. As I remember, I had to eat a lot of Cheerios to get this set as part of a promotion for Cheerios, when they still did those things. You can see by the photo’s there are some tears and rips, but the good news, it does not smell musty and it is all there. And the CURRENCY is in very good condition. I have been watching and noted some are selling just the Currency, from one of these sets for a pretty hefty price. Just last week I was at a Flea Market and the Coin/Bill Collector had one of these bills in his cabinet, and told me his price was a good one, ‘cause he has never seen another one in 30 years of collecting. It took everything I had to just say, “is that right.” So I sure hate to break up this set, so I offer this go around as complete, except for as noted. I have used the guide provided by some Reproductions, I have seen in stores and now on eBay for my source of information. Should you be able to add to it’s history, and would be so kinda as to share, I think it would be a good story for my Grand Kids and please share it with us. Each Blue imprint indicates where you should mount the bills that are also pictured here and are included in the auction. The descriptions below each note are information and a good history lesson. I learned there were two versions of this “Prize Reward” at that time, but I must have chosen the panel of the Robert E. Lee Riverboat on the Mississippi River. Guess because we lived on the River and I always enjoyed seeing the Delta Queen, or maybe it was the Robert Lee, if it is still running. The first four pictures were taken with a scanner to show detail. The fifth picture was taken under plexiglass to show collection in it's entirety. The $20 bill was not present at photo session, I left out to show blue outline, set will be complete when shipped less any frame. The currency set consists of the following bills: $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, $500, and $1000! All bills are printed on the back with the words 'REPRINTED IN U.S.A 1954’.
