1851 THREE CENT PIECE, SILVER. THESE PIECES WERE ALSO CALLED "TRIMES" THIS IS THE FIRST VARIETY MINTED BETWEEN 1851-1853. IT HAS ONE SMALL RIM DING THAT LOOKS WORSE IN THE PHOTO THEN ON THE COIN ITSELF. OTHERWISE IT HAS NICE DETAILS AND WOULD PROBABLY GRADE VF-XF
The 1852 Three Cent Silver is the first issue of any denomination to have a mintage above 10 million pieces. Not surprisingly, the 1852 is not rare in Mint State, This satiny near-Gem will fit nicely into most type sets. Mintage: 18,663,500.
