The Perfect Frozen Shoulder Exercise? I am a registered physical therapist with 11 years experience in a variety of settings including home health, orthopedics, neuro, and geriatrics, although most of my experience falls under orthopedic conditions. One particular area of interest to me over the years has been the shoulder and hand, and has led me to obtain a certification in hand/upper extremity therapy (CHT or Certified Hand Therapist). My interest in this area is primarily due to having undergone rotator cuff surgery in 1998, and subsequently developing a stiff or frozen shoulder during the course of my rehab. I guess you could say I'm a little more empathetic towards my frozen shoulder patients and as a result have gone to great lengths seeking the best frozen shoulder exercise. You or a family member may have been diagnosed by a physician as having a "frozen shoulder", or "adhesive capsulitis" which are broad terms describing a number of conditions or causes, but all mean the same thing symptomatically - A painful and stiff shoulder joint! It also may interest you that there are two commonly documented classifications of frozen shoulder - 1) Primary and 2) Secondary. The criteria for both primary and secondary frozen shoulder syndrome (FSS) are that there has been painful and restricted active and passive motion in the shoulder join present for at least one month and that condition has reached a plateau. With primary FSS, there are no clinical findings on clinical examination or history of injury or pathology to explain the stiffness or loss of motion. With secondary FSS, there is an event or injury/trauma which precedes the stiffness and pain. In either case, your physician may have prescribed physical therapy or exercise. So, what is the "best" frozen shoulder exercise? The answer is that there is no one perfect exercise to eliminate the pain and discomfort of your condition. However by performing the right combination of frozen shoulder exercise, you can greatly reduce your pain and stiffness, and regain lost function that will NOT return by simply resting your shoulder or taking medication! Do You Or A Family Member Have Difficulty With The Following? Fastening your braWashing your face or hairReaching behind your backReaching into kitchen cabinetsGetting your wallet out of your pants pocketPutting on your belt
If you do, then doing the correct combination of frozen shoulder exercise may help you regain these functions, if you perform the right exercises with the correct intensity. Forget listening to your family or friends advice on the next best treatment (which actually might make you worse and prolong your symptoms!). I have included a link to a structured program of exercises and stretching techniques designed to minimize your frozen shoulder symptoms and speed the return of function, all for a very reasonable cost of $29.95. You can spend another 2-3 hours searching for the right combination of exercises, hoping you get lucky, or, you can go ahead and get a fully structured program designed specifically for frozen shoulder exercise, complete with support and start yourself or loved one on the path to recovery!
I have looked at this program and can recommend it highly as physical therapist, as I use the same techniques and exercises on my patients (who I am very sympathetic to!). What's great about this program is it includes actual pictures of a real person performing the exercise versus drawings or illustrations. After payment the program in full is instantly accessible as a download onto your computer! Click Here To Order This Comprehensive Frozen Shoulder Exercise Program
