About Hats Sizes
Explanation on Twist Hats’ Size:
Due to the special construction and material of the Twist Hat, the hat size is “one size generally fits all”. Here are the explanation and actual measurements:
To make the hat twist-and-foldable, aside from the galvanized steel rim, the hat is made with either 100% cotton (Sun Hats) or 100% water-proof nylon (Rain Hats), both of which are soft and pliable material.
Unlike other hats which must be stiff in order to maintain their shapes, the Twist Hats have no rigid crown to restrict the forehead. Therefore, one can wear the Twist Hat either lightly sitting on the head or pulled down further over the head. The matching tie string, when securely fastened under the chin, will keep the hat from being blown away by the wind.
Because each hat is individually sewn, slight variation in measurement may exist, but most of the Twist Sun Hats and Twist Rain Hats have the following measurements:
* At the base of the crown: about 24 inches in circumference (around the forehead)
* The hat tapers up about 3 ½ inches, getting smaller towards the top.
* At the top of the crown: about 18 inches in circumference (on top of the head)
Because the hat is made of soft cloth, it actually conforms to one’s head-size and built. By adjusting the tightness of the chin strap, the hat can “hug” the wearer’s head slightly or snugly, whichever is preferred.
Exceptions to the above measurements are the following two styles:
H13000 Twist Sun Hats:
* At the base of the crown: about 23 inches in circumference (around the forehead)
* The hat tapers up about 3 ½ inches, getting smaller towards the top.
* At the top of the crown: about 18 inches in circumference (on top of the head)
Children’s Rain Hats:
* At the base of the crown: about 21 inches in circumference (around the forehead)
* The hat tapers up about 3 ½ inches, getting smaller towards the top.
* At the top of the crown: about 16 inches in circumference (on top of the head)
Close-Out-Hats are discontinued styles remaining from some of our earliest production batches. They are not defective but we consider them inferior to our more recent stock of folding hats. Only when you compare new and old side by side would you notice that pouch zippers are more robust, brim wires are not as stiff, fabric quality is thicker and new stock includes a plastic neck keeper.
We are posting the last of these stocks here for anyone that might still be interested in them. They are discontinued and being liquidated "AS IS" without warranty and exempt from return.
