The 1959 Barbie was made from heavy vinyl plastic.The bottom of the right foot is marked "Made In Japan".There are holes in the feet for mounting on a pedestal stand.The vinyl plastic is usually faded to a white tone.Her outfit was a striped swimsuit,white blue lens sunglasses,hoop earrings and black open toe high heel shoes.
