I searched a long time for a fast natural remedy for cold sores.
I have been suffering from embarassing cold sores since I was 14.
Two things I tried that were Free and a little bit succesful were:
Ice. Simply take some ice and make it into an icepack and apply to the area that you feel is developing a new sore. Rub it slowly and repeat from time to time.
Tea bag. Warm it up and then apply it onto the blistered skin for a couple of minutes or for half an hour at the most. Do it again after an hour. Repeating it hour after hour makes it more effective.

P.S This actually has cured me so far (been over 8 months).
