This 200 year old clock is in the Museum Of Science And Industry in Chicago and was used to make the measured drawings and plans which we are now offering .From these plans you can build an exact copy of this rare American antique clock. You have a choice of building it with a modern quartz movement,a spring driven striking movement, or you can go all the way and build the complete wooden movement which is shown in great detail in the plans with complete instructions.
Plans for original old clocks of this type are hard to find.In fact we could find no other plans available for this early American antique clock.Detailed plans and measured drawings were made from the original clock and we are making these available so that you can build one of these fine and very interesting antique clocks.
Building clocks is a challenge for the craftsman.Wooden works clocks are not difficult to build however. You simply must work very carefully so that all the parts fit together properly. This simply requires slow careful work which will enable you to turn out an excellent clock. The plans and instructions go into step by step detail with complete illustrations of every part and how all the parts fit together.
This is a wonderful project for the craftsman who likes to do precision work.It is not hard.Anyone can do it using simple hand tools just as the original makers did 200 years ago.A hand fret saw will do the work very nicely.A power jig saw will of course speed up the work.
You will find the plans for this simply built antique clock in my eBay store.Click berlow to see them now.
