Diet and exercising can seem all a bit to much when we look at how fast paced our lives are today . Diets and weight loss programs are more flexible now than they once were and there are many prepared foods already portioned out. They are made attractive and can be prepared in a matter of minutes. Diets such as the Atkins diet or Zone diet suggest people eat more protein and fat while restricting carbohydrate to lose weight. Others, like those on a vegetarian diet, abandon meat altogether.
As a Weight management Consultant I have a few secrets of my own when It comes to achieving easy weight loss in our fast paced world. But more on that later.
Dieting can be healthy and effective or bad for your body, so it is crucial that you learn the difference between dieting in a healthy way and dieting in an unhealthy way. The foods you choose should help your body not hurt it. Diet pills and supplements have taken over the nutritional need for well balanced and healthy diet. But some maybe useful in controlling appetite.
Obesity also can bring on diabetes and asthma, along with many other diseases. Obesity will also denigrate the quality of life that a person experiences. Obesity and depression often are strongly connected in middle aged women, according to a recent study published in General Hospital Psychiatry.
Exercise is important in any weight loss program especially if you want to lose the weight permanently. These programs work by increasing the rate at which you burn off calories and if you burn more calories than you consume then your body will start converting fat into energy to make up for the shortfall. Exercise helps to burn excess calories and build muscle, both of which are important for weight management. Weight loss improves hypertension and diabetes, so including these as co-variates would tend to attenuate the apparent benefit of weight loss. In the present study, the authors appropriately excluded people with diabetes, and adjustment for hypertension appeared to have little impact.
