http://www.freebies-download.com Navigating your Way into the Freebie Realm Part of the fun in
being frugal is cruising the internet to find some great deals,
specifically freebies. Everyone wants to get something for nothing and
the internet is the perfect place to find free stuff in all sorts of
categories from personal grooming to entertainment.
Filling out online forms is a large part of the freebie process
and it can be quite time consuming and confusing if you are new to it
all. One of the first things you might want to do is adjust your
internet browser settings to accept "storing" your information
temporarily while filling out these forms. That way, with each new
offer, you can just enter the first few letters of the information and
the rest will pop up automatically. Of course, you will want to
remember to disable this setting once you are through, particularly if
someone else shares a computer with you.
Identifying legitimate freebie offers takes practice but there are
a few things you can look for during your indoctrination. First,
examine the fine print to see if the offer requires any shipping and
handling as this makes the offer "not free." Also check their privacy
policy to see how they handle private information. As a backup, check
WHOIS to ensure that the company offering the freebies is the same one
that runs the website advertising them. Sometimes, a third party will
create a splashy, legitimate looking website for the sole purpose of
capturing your personal information.
One of the biggest complaints about copping some freebies is that
your email address becomes bombarded with junk mail that you may not be
interested in. It is a given that most freebie sites will likely sell
your information to other marketing companies. If you wish to minimize
your junk mail, use only a disposable email address when you are
applying for freebie offers as this will greatly reduce the spam you
receive in your "real" email box.
Be sure to abide by the rules of the freebie offers you are
interested in; otherwise, your request just might end up thrown out.
Rules are in place so that as many people as possible can benefit, not
just you. Of course, don't apply for any and all freebie offers or you
just might end up inundated with products that you have no desire to
use. Only choose the products you are interested in, particularly the
new ones that have not saturated the market yet. All in all, free stuff
is quite cool but you just have to watch your step and navigate those
freebie waters with care.
