This outstanding 1971 Hemi 'Cuda Convertible tribute car is one of the finest
we've seen in quite a while.
With all of the right stuff, it's the perfect 'Cuda for the discriminating Mopar fan
who wants a trailer queen quality car to show & drive, without having to pony up
3 million bucks for the real thing, to watch it sit on pedestal and rotate around.
One VERY nice feature of this Hemi Cuda is that a real deal 1971 426,
dual quad Hemi engine sits in its engine bay, along with real 1971 Hemi heads!
How many 1971 Hemi 'Cuda tribute cars can make this claim??
As evidenced by the first 6 of the VIN, BH27L0, this 'Cuda started its life as a real deal
and rare 1970 Plymouth Barracuda 383, 4-Speed Convertible.
I can hear all of the Mopar guys groaning!
Guys, we didn't do this one!
Even better for the new owner of this 'Cuda is that the car came from California,
and retains ALL of its original body panels.
That's correct: original quarters, original trunk floor and original floor pans.
The only sheet metal on this car replaced during the build process
was the drivers side inner fender, which received an acid bath at some point in its life.
When this 'Cuda was received the car from California, it was exceptionally clean
and rust free, but the original drive train was long gone.
The decision to turn it into a 1971 Hemi Cuda clone was made, and the hunt was on
for a real deal 1971 426 Hemi Engine.
After spending a good six months locating the block and heads, a professional build
of the engine was performed, with all of the normal goodies one would expect to find
on such a beast, with a few cool additions,
including a brand new Bouchillon Air Conditioning unit.
The engine is absolutely fresh and tuned to perfection.
The 426 Hemi breathes through a standard Hemi exhaust
with standard mufflers and chrome exhaust tips.
Mated to the 426 Hemi is a completely rebuilt,
1971 date coded A833 4 Speed manual transmission, which operates as new.
Power is then transferred to a brand new Strange Engineering S60 ( Dana 60 )
Positraction rear end with a 3.54 gear.
