The Site
The site sells software through affiliate links with currently over 18,000 different titles available in both the direct-purchase and try-before-you-buy formats. Any product sold will generate commission for the site. Google, YPN or other ads can be a secondary source of revenue.
The Script-Database
The site uses a PHP script and a MySQL database. There is a comprehensive Site Admin built into the system to manage product updates and other aspects of the site. Updating can be set to be done automatically or it can be done manually by clicking an update button inside the Admin Area. Search stats are logged and can be viewed from the Admin Area.
All URLs are “statically” generated for search engines. Each product has its own “static” URL. Featured Product, New Products and Top Downloads are displayed on the front page. You can add your favorite news feed as well to show topical news. An Ajax based rating system lets visitors rate individual products.
Site’s Overhead Expenses
While you will decide on the marketing budget to promote the site, there are minimal overheads in running it - all you pay is for hosting and renewal of the domain name.
The Domain Name
Omnirama is a word coined from omni - meaning all, and panorama - meaning wide or extensive. Highly brandable, can be used for selling almost any product. Today you sell software, tomorrow you may wish to sell, e.g. ebooks. The name does not ties you to a single product. A meaningful and superbly brandable name for such a site, will be worth in high four figures for the name alone.
