This Jim Kelley Amp is a great example of the very rare and amazing Active Guitar Electronics F.A.C.S. amplifier put out by this company. Jim Kelley amps were only manufactured from 1978 to 1985 and this was the flagship model. Very few examples of this amp exist and the few dealers that have them offer them at outrageous prices. No more than a handful of these will pop up on eBay in any given year as we've seen only a few of these pass through our site at over the past 6 months. If you've ever wanted one of these gems don't let it pass you by. Our site has new inventory added by the hour! Find your Jim Kelley amp today at GuitarGoGo!
One of the reasons this amplifier is so special is because it's one of the best sounding amps ever made. You can get tones from blackface Fender Deluxe Reverb to the high gain overdrive sounds of the Dumble Overdrive Special. The reverb sounds incredible and goes from subtle to full on drenched surf. The overdrive is one of the smoothest sounding overdrives you'll ever hear. It mixes preamp and power amp overdrive in such a way that preserves clarity and note articulation, while adding sustain and balls, but without any of the typical fuzz hiss and chunk found on other amps like the mesa boogie mark series and marshalls and so forth.

This Jim Kelley amp has great features as well. The overall power level can be set for 2 or all 4 6V6 tubes (30 or 60 Watts) You have one footswitch to go between the 2 channels and another that boosts the overall gain on both channels, so you basically have 4 levels of gain that is footswitchable. The 2 channels have identical controls and sound identical when the knobs are set the same way, but the signal from one channel gets routed through the power attenuator so you can crank the gain on that channel, then match its volume to the 'clean' channel using the power attenuator. Each channel also has independent reverb levels and there is an effects loop as well. Each channel has a pull brite knob and a pull mid-boost knob and there is an overall pull presence knob and a pull channel switch knob as well if you prefer not to keep the footswitch plugged in.
