Airsoft
has been well established in Asia for over 20 years, but only in recent
years has there been much interest in the rest of the world. Most
professional literature on Airsoft were written in Japanese, with very
few translated works available.

In
early 2005, when AirsoftPRESS was founded by a group of airsoft
specialists, airsofters outside of Japan either relied on free
speculated advices from the internet or paid a gunsmith for service.
Selling professionally developed self-help guides to the public was
scandalous, and when people first began to show up in games armed with
nothing but a weapon upgraded under the guidance of an AirsoftPRESS
publication, many people laughed.
But then a funny thing happened. Although some "experts" scolded the
public that it was foolish to upgrade or maintain an airsoft gun without
seeking direct person-to-person advice, ordinary airsofters soon proved
them wrong. Self-help guides from AirsoftPRESS were slowly becoming
respectable.
Over time, AirsoftPRESS's publications became essential fixtures on
Airsofters' workbenches, and soon, even some Airsoft dealers began using
AirsoftPRESS's materials and recommending them to their customers.
