This is a must for any artist or illustrator who wants to get his work seen by a wider audience. The listings are great and have details such as who to contact and what their terms are. Also, many companies have a web site so you can see if your work would "Fit in" their catalog.
The book is laid out in a series of articles, interviews, and then the contacts. The articles were quite useful, chock full of information on how to keep track of income and expenses for taxes, what rights you own for your work and how to sell reproduction rights smartly, and how to promote your work to art directors. Also, there were a series of interviews with successful artists and art directors about how they got their foot in the door.
There is also a "niche index" to help you find those particular companies who are into medical illustration, children's books, sci-fi, caricature, etc. This is vital for anyone looking to get their work out there and learn a little about the business side of art.
