Product Review
This book is about one family's experience boycotting all items made in China. It is written in a humorous (sometimes hilarious) style, and is as entertaining as a novel. The author, Sara Bongiorni, is a journalist, and it was she that initiated the boycott in her family, with the rest of the family (her husband, and two children) participating with various amounts of enthusiasm.
Author Sara Bongiorni, a business journalist, decided to conduct an experiment and find out what effect this dependence is having on one average American family. Her family of four spent one calendar year not buying products made in China. Bongiorni suspected it would not be easy and she was right. Bongiorni didn't boycott Chinese products for any political or idealistic reason, she was just curious to see if it was possible or practical, to do without China-made goods.
It's definitely worth a read, especially for those who are in charge of doing most of the shopping for their families. It will definitely make you more mindful about what you're buying and considerate of your own role in the global economy.
