What started out as a popular web comic series that began in 2004, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, is a laugh-out-loud novel in cartoons adapted from the series. Its about a middle school student, Greg Heffleys (mis-)adventures as he goes through one whole year of academic drama.
The character, Greg, was created as the hero of a web comic at [please contact me for website address] and has actually been on the scene since May 2004 by Jeff Kinney, an online game developer. In this, printed version, Kinney has successfully transferred the web comic series into an illustrated novel. Its as engaging as the series and just as hilarious!
The story is about Greg and his diary that his mom bought for him. Its a story about what should have been the mundane life of boys at the brink of adolescence but with Kinneys manipulation, every turn of the page in this book will have you doubled over with laughter.
This printed version of the web comic offers some of the same adventures as the web book but also has enough new subplots to entertain its long time fans at Funbrain. This is an excellent choice of book foe those reluctant readers but one that experienced readers will also much enjoy.
