The first thing to remember is to only deal directly with a breeder . Breeders KNOW about their puppies ,where they came from ,who the parents are .make sure the breeder has a vet reference . These things are important to the health and happiess of both you and your puppy .
If you do not want to purchase from a breeder .Look into your local shelters or rescues . There are many ,many links to rescue orgs online . Try a few .You won't be sorry .
Do BEWARE of Breeders that sell cheaply or ones that use "registered" (as maltipoos are not a breed and only registered as michellenous) , "true" ..A maltipoo is a maltipoo if it is first or second or third generation ...or a breeder that is in a hurry or fast talks you into a pet ,a breeder that lets one go without being fully vetted or under 10 weeks old .

Information General
A maltipoo is a very happy dog .Loving and loyal .Most dogs are . Choosing what is right for YOUR family is the important thing . Get the whole family involved in choosing the puppy .It is a very important decision . A breeder should work with you and your family to fit just the right dog to your family .
Maltipoos tend to be LOW shedders (there is no such thing as a NON SHEDDING DOG !!! unless they have NO HAIR AT ALL ) and are considered good for those that have allergies to dander . However ,if you are allergic to the salavia of a dog (which is a very common allergery) ,you will be allergic to any dog ,including the Maltipoo or any other crossbreed .
Shedding Categories ...Low ,Medium and High Shedders . Poodles ,Maltese,Shih Tzu, Maltipoo ,Shih Poo and similar dogs belong in the LOW shedding category .
They ,for the most , are easy to train .Alot of that depends on YOU and how much time and effort YOU put into the training .
There are NO standards for a Maltipoo . A standard would be set by the Club when one is set ,most likely after the third generation so that experience from several breeders /owners would provide knowlege to set a Standard .The normal Maltipoo range in size is from 5 to 15 lbs . Some can be smaller ,some can be larger . ALL Maltipoos are considered Toy Dogs .
