2009 Tommaso Augusta Track Bike Factory Blemish

The Tommaso Augusta is one of our best selling and most highly anticipated bikes available. Our 2008 model sold out in record time. After a long wait, we received two shipments of Augustas. We recently received the second shipment of Augustas some of which Tommaso discovered blemishes from the factory. Upon first look it was difficult to pinpoint the issues. Upon further inspection we found that some bikes had minor aesthetic blemishes on the wheels, some had rust on the cogs, some had rust on the stem bolts, some had slight paint issues, and some were perfect. Tommaso Augusta: The Tommaso Augusta is such a great bike at a great price we always sell out fast. This year we decided to give you three Tommaso Augusta track/commuter/pub pedal bikes for you to make your choice. For starters we have the updated blacked out Tommaso Augusta track bike. This bike is the real deal with track geometry and components. We sent our Product Manager to the new Boulder Indoor Cycling Track to test out the bike. He came back all smiles. Other companies throw a fixed gear hub in a frame and call it a track bike. They think if it looks like a track bike that is close enough. Well that wont cut it in the track world. There are track corners to consider and crank length. A lot of the œtrack� bikes/fixies out there wont be allowed near a track due to improper geometry. Track frames need to have higher bottom brackets and steeper angles. They also need to be able to handle the force coming out of the banked corners. The track tells no lies. That means if your bike isnt designed for the track the track will let you know. There sis nothing worse that fighting your own bike to keep it upright on the track. You need solid handling and a great fit. At Tommaso we suited up and worked the Tommaso Augusta on the track. Like Back in Black this bike rocks! At the heart of the Tommaso Augusta is a strong steel frame with a track geometry. This makes for a ride that is buttery smooth and fast. A slightly steeper seat tube and a shorter rake on the fork make for pure power transfer and precise handling. The Augusta steel fork is designed to take the accelerations on the banked corners of the velodrome as well as the rigors of the road. The frame is designed specifically for a 120mm track hub and 700c wheels. The fork and frame are drilled to take a road caliper brake. Not all track bikes will see the track. Tommaso has provided a great bike for training on the road and working on the perfect pedal stroke. Riding a fixed bike will shed light on poor pedaling performance within 30 revolutions. Bad pedaling performance is called œpedaling squares.� This means the rider is not supplying even and fluid strokes to the pedals. On a fixed gear bike those œdead areas� of the stroke will be felt by the rider when the gear is fixed. The fixed gear will force the rider to pedal with fluid and constant power all the way around the stroke. The best riders on the road will have the best pedal stroke.
