WHAT A SUMMER EXPERIENCE!
We moved into our house in early summer and to our absolute delight we were inundated with visits all day from baby birds of all kinds looking for food. It rained almost non stop for 5 weeks and I guess their food supply was washed away and we were lucky enough to experience these visits.
Now that the birds are older and the rain has stopped they only come once in a while except for one particular bird who comes and 'talks' to me. I am a bit sceptical on that but he does appear to listen to me trying to imitate bird noises and then he sings back to me in quite a loud and warbly fashion. It's nothing for us to have a noisy back and forth about 15 times. We must sound truly crazy - or at least I probably do!
We have since learnt that the area we have moved to has a great environment for birding. It is so beautiful to wake up in the morning and hear them chirping away - in fact even now as I write this they are making a beautiful noise outside.
