Scottish Victorian Solid Silver Gilt Dishes. This is a beautiful Pair of Scottish Victorian Solid Silver Gilt Dishes. They are in a trefoil shape with a pierced decoration comprising of a top border of what I would best describe as a bow shape, straight bars interspersed with a wheel design. Each dish stands on a 3 hoofed griffin supports which are very decorative and ornate.
Assay Office: EDINBURGH
Date: 1896
Makers Marks: Hamilton & Inches
Dimensions: Each dish is 6.5 inches wide and 2.25 inches tall to the top of the griffins' heads. They weigh a total of 11 oz ( 314g)
Condition: They are in beautful condition apart from one very very very minor ding on one top edge but this is very very small
Remarks: These are really gorgeous 112 year old dishes in an interesting shape and being totally gilt in colour make them unusual and impressive. They ooze quality and they are a must for any collector of Victorian Silver (paricularly of interest to Scottish collectors). They make stunning display dishes when they are not being used as they would make impressive serving dishes for chocolates, sweets, nuts etc. Please do not miss these as they are quite special
