Liquid Nutritionals and You

Have you considered starting on any of the liquid nutritionals that are so popular now? Some of the most widely publicized juices that are consider liquid nutritionals include goji juice, mangosteen, pomegranate, noni and acai.

Are these nutritionally rich juices safe for everyone to use or are there special precautions? If you are on any type of prescription medication, there is always some risk of prescription drug interaction with any type of nutritional supplement that would supply support for healing and balance. This is because nature is equipped with all the nutrients the body needs to restore balance naturally and, when these natural medicines are taken, they sometimes do the same job that your prescription meds are trying to do and therefore, can result in problems.

Liquid Nutritionals, while considered safe for otherwise healthy individuals, may pose certain risks for diabetics or those taking specific medications for other conditions, including heart conditions. To read up on any associated risks when taking liquid nutritionals, please visit the following pages on nutritional and antioxidant juices:

Goji Juice Safety

These health care articles not only explore the very real and beneficial properties of acai juice, goji juice, pomegranate, mangosteen and noni juices but also alert those few who might be adversely affected by the potassium levels, sugar levels or other properties in these juices. It's always a good idea to check with your doctor or pharmacist before adding anything nutritional to your diet, just to rule out any potential side effects or interactions that might result from also taking prescription drugs.

Just as an aside, and from the holistic health and alternative medicine perspective only, the term liquid nutritionals is also used to refer to some products I don't really embrace. Products like Ensure or boost, are often suggested as helpful liquid nutrition for people with cancer, for example. While I do agree that it is absolutely vital for those battling cancer to have supplemental help, the high sugar content and/or processed food components of these supplements do not signal to me that best nutritional choice, particularly when there are organic and whole food nutritionals that offer optimal vitamin and mineral nutrition that comes directly from the synergistic genius of Mother Nature and God.
