Solid Silver Candlesticks with Seahorse columns
This an absolutely Stunning Pair of Solid Silver Candlesticks/Tapersticks with Seahorse Columns on light green/grey and white marble style bases. Although they are identical they are dated the same year with the same makers marks but one is hallmarked for Sheffield and has the extra Brittania standard silver mark and the other is for London.
They are really quite exquisite with 3 beautifully crafted Seahorses whose tails stand on a Starfish. Each has a light green/grey & white marble style base which are covered with green felt to protect surfaces from scratching. These will only take a very slim candle/taperstick because they are so delicate and ornate and the diameter of the hole where the candle/taperstick would sit is 0.5 inch.
Assay Office: SHEFFIELD and LONDON Date: 1966
Makers Marks: BSC Dimensions: 6.25 inches tall and the diameter of the bases are 2.75 inches. Just to confirm my note above, the diameter of the hole where the candle/taperstick fits is 0.5 inch, so these will only take a very slim candle or taperstick
Condition: They are both in lovely condition with one column just standing slightly off vertical, but really not noticeable except if you look very closely and certainly does not detract in any way these beautiful candlesticks
Remarks: This really is a gorgeous pair of Solid Silver Candlesticks unique in their design that would look stunning in any home. These make truly wonderful display pieces and would certainly enhance any dinner table
