What YOU need to know about me is that not only am I handsome in a rakish one-ear-up-at-all-times way, I also have the biggest lovey snuggle per ounce of any dog on earth!
I am a 2-3 year old, neutered golden-red guy, part dachshund, part terrier, maybe a dash of chi thrown in for fun! I weigh about 16 pounds now, but I am still thinner than fashionable for doggies my size, so I'll probably gain a couple of pounds as I settle in to my forever home. Besides, food is not really what I am interested in! I meet and greet other dogs well, and if introduced in a quiet way, I love nearly all adult humans (both men and women) and nearly all doggies, but cats and I do NOT have an understanding.
I would prefer access to a yard, because I am not the sort of guy who likes to hang out at the dog park, or walk endlessly around the block on lead. I definitely prefer to skip crowds of people, because I like to be able to meet people one or two at a time. However, I NEVER forget someone who was kind to me, even after weeks of separation. My foster mom says that I attach to people quickly and have a very smart memory for human beings. I also have a high desire to please, so once you get my attention, I will try very hard to figure out what makes me a "good dog" in your world.
I would like to belong with a forever family with a single adult, or more than one adult, and I get along great with teens. Mostly I would love to watch your every move, cuddle with you, give you a kiss, sit or stand up for treats, wag my tail every time you look back at me, come when I am called, and let you pet my smooth, soft short coat that always smells as sweet as I am inside.
